Cinnamon Myrtle- Backhousia myrtifolia

Cinnamon Myrtle or Grey Myrtle is a small rainforest tree and is widely used as a bush food/remedy. Displaying both anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, the leaves produce an oil that is similar to the scent of cinnamon. A close relative to lemon myrtle, the Cinnamon Myrtle grows to around 30m in rainforest environment but more usually just 3-6m in a garden setting. very attractive especially when flowering.
